| Regional Sports Facility |
Sportscotland recently announced that an extra two million pounds was to be allocated for the new Regional sports facility at Linksfield in the city.
Lewis Macdonald said: 'The investment is great news for Aberdeen and the North East. The new centre will help the city and the shire produce even more sporting stars in the future, strengthening an ever expanding and diverse North East economy. The centre will increase the opportunities for everyone in the area to become more active'.
Work on the centre is expected to begin in early summer 2007 with completion targeted at early 2009.
