| Changes in the Scottish Parliament |
| Alex Fergusson MSP was elected as the Scottish Parliament's Presiding Officer following a secret ballot of newly elected Members on 14 May 2007. Mr Fergusson becomes the Parliament's third Presiding Officer and replaces George Reid. Alasdair Morgan MSP and Trish Godman MSP will assist Mr Fergusson as Deputy Presiding Officers.
