| Albyn House: model for all |
Albyn House is a model the Scottish Government is considering for dealing with drunks right across the country, according to Health and Social Services Minister Shona Robison- yet Administration councillors on Aberdeen City Council are determined to close it down.
Ms Robison's recognition that Albyn House provides a model came in a reply to Aberdeen Central MSP Lewis Macdonald, who wrote to ask ministers to back Albyn House when councillors pulled the plug.
Lewis Macdonald said:
`Yet again we have an Scottish Government Minister acknowledging the good work carried out at Albyn House. Towards the end of last year Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill also highlighted the facility, and only today Albyn House hosted visitors from Lothian Drugs and Alcohol Team who are interested in following this successful model.
`I hope Administration councillors will listen to their own Ministers, and reverse their plans to cut funding for Albyn House.`
