| Macdonald welcomes stay of execution at Albyn House |
Aberdeen Central MSP Lewis Macdonald today welcomed the news that the threat to the future of Albyn House has been pushed back to the end of July.
Lewis Macdonald said:
`I want to pay tribute to NHS Grampian's vision in making this short term deal possible. I understand that NHS Grampian will pay Aberdeen City Council's share of funding of the Designated Place at Albyn House for June and July, which will allow all parties to take an informed view of future funding once the current review of the work of Albyn House has been completed.
`One of the worst aspects of Aberdeen City Council's decision to end funding of Albyn House was that they acted without the evidence that will come from the review that they themselves commissioned.
` I have no doubt that the review will demonstrate that the work of Albyn House is hugely valued to all concerned and I hope therefore that this will be the first council cut to be fully reversed from 1 August.`
