| Macdonald congratulates canoeist |
Aberdeen Central MSP Lewis Macdonald has tabled a motion in the Scottish Parliament congratulating David Florence on winning a silver medal at the Beijing Olympics.
His motion congratulates the former Mile End Primary School pupil on his success in the men's slalom.
Lewis Macdonald said; `It is a great achievement and David Florence is a good example to future competitors as we approach the 2012 Olympics in Britain.
`I look forward to seeing Team GB winning more medals.`

That the Parliament congratulates Olympic canoeist David Florence, a former pupil of Mile End Primary School in Aberdeen, on winning a silver medal for Team Great Britain in the men's C1 single slalom final, wishes all athletes representing Team Great Britain the best of luck and looks forward to further success in forthcoming events
