| Macdonald meets with SPSA |
Aberdeen Central MSP Lewis Macdonald will today (31 October) meet with David Mulhern Chief Executive, Chief Executive of the Scottish Police Services Authority (SPSA) and Tom Nelson, Director of Forensic Services SPSA to discuss the future of the forensic laboratory in Aberdeen.
The meeting will also be attended by his parliamentary colleagues Anne Begg MP and Richard Baker MSP.
The meeting comes at the request of the SPSA who have been ordered by Ministers to hold a series of meetings with key stakeholders on their plans to close the Aberdeen lab, after Lewis Macdonald and other MSPs raised the issue in the Scottish Parliament.
Lewis Macdonald said:
`My colleagues and I will make very clear our outright opposition to these closure plans.
`We will also ask the SPSA how they intend to consult with other key stakeholders including forensic service staff, Grampian Police, the staff union UNISON and members of the public.`
